Nick Dolecek
Principal and Founder
Nick has worked as the principal of DEI for the past 20 years and has developed and managed large scale projects all over the US. He has the ability to organize all aspects of a landscape level environmental services project from preliminary planning, through NEPA and project implementation while managing crews and final auditing that verify a projects quality and return on investment. Nick is an accomplished natural resource professional and developer with an acute understanding of natural resources, financial markets and real estate markets nationally. He has an amazing ability to combine these talents to help clients protect and profit from their natural resources.
Nick graduated with Natural Resources and Business Administration degrees from Oregon State University Corvallis and Utah State University. He has helped develop over 20 million emission reduction tonnes worldwide and has helped protect over 1 million acres of forest.
Kyla Dolecek
Administrative Coordinator
Kyla Dolecek brings 15 years of forestry experience to her role, specializing in project administration, team supervision, and field operations. Starting her career in agroforestry with the Peace Corps, she now manages complex logistics, including large-scale carbon projects. Her strong technical background—featuring CFI crew leadership and Timber Cruise certifications—informs her practical approach to operational oversight. She holds degrees from The Evergreen State College and New Mexico Highlands University.
Max W. Modern
Project Manager- Southwestern United States
Max has worked in the natural resource sector for 20 years. He is currently directing operations for Dolecek Enterprises Inc.in the southwest, based out of Pagosa Springs, CO. Emphasis on watershed resilience and fire mitigation. Max's expertise includes project management, procurement, timber sales, timber cruising, GIS, drone mapping and forest management..
Kevin Emde
Supervisory Forester
Kevin Emde is a forester with 13 years of experience in forest management, silviculture, and landscape restoration across the western United States. He specializes in developing practical, science-based management strategies that improve forest health, reduce wildfire risk, and create resilient forests for future generations.
Nathan Malcomb
Carbon Offsets
Nathan Malcomb has worked in forestry, research and carbon sequestration for 15 years. His time spent working for CalFire on some of California’s early action carbon projects, coupled with climate change research have given him a unique skill set and view of offset projects. His work entails origination, inventory, quantification and sales.
Tim Hare
Supervisory Forester
Tim Hare has been has been working in forestry for the past 15 years. During that time Tim has worked all over the United States in both Silviculture and Timber running crews and crew leaders to ensure high quality production and large volumes of work are implemented well. Tim is extremely adept at personnel and business management for scaling operations up in various sectors.
